What kind of mileage are you getting? I am getting 23-27 or better.

What kind of mileage are you guys getting? I drove from Sacramento to Morro Bay about 270 miles with some stops and detours so probably close to 290 miles on just a hair over a quarter tank? Only cost $66 bucks to fill up from almost empty in Sac.

Overhead was saying as good as 28 at one point then 26-27 the rest of the way. I know the overhead is a lie-o-meter but how many gallons does a 2003 2500 CC LB hold? Anybody else getting this mileage? Mine is bone stock, the only custom thing on my truck is the seat covers And even those are Dodge brand, man I need to get on the band wagon here and get some mods!

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

This reminds me of Algebra class? Answer: Can not solve, due to lack of information.

how many gallons do our trucks hold? I was topped off, and only used just over a quarter tank to drive almost 300 miles. Doesn't sound right huh?

Mine holds 35 gal. (by book) but I have toped it off before and somehow got 38.5 gal in it. So that being said, I was not totally empty becasue I drove into the fuel stop. If I top my truck off to the absolute top of the neck. I can go approx. 230-250 on the 1 quarter of guage. But the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters are a totally diff. story. How many miles can get out of a tank? and how many mpgs are you getting calc. by hand??

Our truck gets 18mpg at 74mph and 20mpg at 62mph unloaded. I filled the tank made our trip and when we returned filled tank again and divided the gallons into the milage. Those overhead gauges SUCK !! It only has 8k miles so hopefully it will get a little better.

Hell I do 300 miles on a 1/4 tank too. What happens when you hit half a tank? I get 22

I should join the 700 mile club, but don't.

Lets see the hand calc's. Divide the miles by the gallons. Then tell me. I'll bet 22 and no more

Man you guys get your panties in a bunch over mileage, all I was saying was that it seemed odd that I was getting mileage that good and asking if anyone else had any ideas or if this was just a fluke. It was more of a question.

Not trying to get in a pissing contest here just thought it was odd, I'll be sure to just ask questions that I already have the answer to. I have been a Powerstroke guy all my life so this whole good mileage thing is pretty exciting for me.

And by the way its a 2003 5.9 SO 5 speed NV4500 Crew Cab and I think it has 4.10's all stock.

Sorry if we came across a little abrasive, it is just with out data, there is no substance. folks on this site that know exactly what they are getting are hand calc. and keepin it real. And to your credit.. now that we know its a 5sp 03, from other post the 03 do seem to get pretty good mileage. don't take the comments you get here personal. As my grandma always said "Better Get some Thick Skin if you gonna hang out here!"

Your tank is 34 gallons (short bed) and the overhead is usually anywhere 3-10 mpg off from hand calculating your mileage.
