My boss sold his 03 QC/SB 4X4 auto with 59K for $19K. You should be able to talk 'em down a bit.

Just to give you another price, I got my 07 for $26 with 40k on it, after the repainted the rock chips, put on town mirrors, and a bug deflector.

If your getting it from a private party it should be around 14 or so for the 03 6speed. If you get it from a dealer with less than 90K miles on the truck it should sell for 19 if its PERFECT. Personally I would stay away from a vehicle that has mods on it, no clue how previous drivers took care of it with either vehicle but at least a "stock" truck wasn't dealing outside its designed performance range.

They vary SOOOO much in price from one location to another, that you can't just tell him what's a good deal or not. I agree that telling him what we paid for our trucks is good for comparison, but you can't tell him what's a good deal or not. He has to do local research to determine that. In my area, these trucks still fetch a pretty good price. Not sure why or how, but they do.

Bought my truck in Fairfield, CT and that is a high price area. I only paid 26k for an 06', out the door, taxes included. It had a mear 8K miles on it, leveled, aftermarket rims/tires and side steps. Granted it is only a regular cab with a six speed, but it was still a great deal. You should be able to get a good deal with the bad auto market.

That sounds very high to me too. I bought my 03 4x4 6speed 4d with 57k on it 2 years ago for 22k. The way the market is now that sounds really high. They have 1/2 off MSRP in Texas right now on 08 models too. So I would shop around.
