Boost Fooler Question
Truck is in my sig. I see boost foolers are a cheap upgrade and was wondering what you guts think about them. Pros and cons. Thanks in advance for your replys.

They're just like adjusting the rod on manual waste gates, except it's in electronic form. Raises the stock kick out point from 34lbs to about 45lbs. I'd get a boost gauge to monitor the situation.

I had one on my truck for a while before I put a downloader on it and I didn't notice any increase on the boost gauge. After the downloader was put on it jumped the boost up to 45-46 lbs. However you should be careful running the stock turbo that high cuz their not really designed to boost much over about 34-36 lbs from what I'm told. Which is why I took it off.

I notice when running it I get lower egts climbing hills and such. I run my programmer on extreme and it creates alot of egts. So it helps in my case. On the downside I get much more turbo bark or wastegate dumping sound with on when I am not careful, I noticed it much more now that I have a new low stall TC.

With the sticks(injectors) i notice a difference when i unplug the fooler. but i honestly didnt notice a dif stock till i raced my buddies 01 identical to mine. I slowly pulled away but i still won. works good till you get a programmer. then they are pointless.

As far as it not being needed with a programmer that is wrong. It is needed with my programmer, which has no boost fooling built in, only tons of awesome power and smoke.

your stock turbo is good for about 35 psi. anything after that your just pushing hot air and doing no good.

Boost Fooler
I put a quadzilla boost fooler on my 07 2500 for about three days. I noticed that there was no smoke coming out of the exhaust when I got on it. The thing did not give me any more power than the superchip did and after I took it off, the truck did not have as much power and the fuel economy got worse. Has anybody had this experience with the boost fooler? thanks, chefbutthead

i am looking at one too but i am afraid it hurts my turbo. How bad can this really be for your stock turbo? i dont want to be blowing anything up but i want more power. it seems like a cheap upgrade
