are you jacking up both sides or one at a time, one at a time is probably the limited slip thats making it feel funny.

Both Front wheels where off the ground.
Does the Front have Limited slip or is it open?

I dident check the Fluid yet. I am going to check for oil Shavings in the Fluid.

Without me being there, it's hard to really know. We can toss suggestions at you, but best thing for you to do is take your truck to a repair facility and let them resolve the issue. Engine issues are more my speciality. Good luck! :thumbsup

i would take the driveshaft off and spin it. If it still makes noise its either wheel bearings or a bearing inside the dif.

I've read this entire thread, hoping to find a conclusion to this matter. I've got the same problem with my 2wd 04 2500 quad. It sounded similar to off-road tire noise, but after changing tires, ball joints, checking wheel bearings, alligning....it still makes the exact same noise. Humming at lower speads gets pretty loud and does not make a difference on or off the gas, or in or out of gear. Still the same. Pitch rises with speed. Did dieselguy147 ever fix it?

I am having the same humming problem. I also changed the wheels with no luck! Mine started out making the noise between 50 and 70 mph. It would go away beyond 70. Now it is making the noise and vibrating beyond 70. Letting off the gas doesnt make it stop. I am not sure what it is. My next step was to fork over the 600 and replace the wheel hub assemblies. Anyother suggestions? BTW, it is an 05 4wd.

Angry gears shot

I took it in to the shop and the mechanic found out that the pinion(sp) gears are shot. Had to have them all replaced at 75,000 miles at a cost of $875.
