New TC and VB!!!!!

Hey all, i just got my new billet single disk converter and custom tuned HTS valve body installed on Thursday. Got a good deal from Wally at FTE.

Shifting is awesome! I can really feel the power being applied to the ground. The improvements are outstanding.

However, i got the parts in on Thursday afternoon. Went and picked my truck up after work, went couple blocks down the street to the gas station to fill up. Proceeded to the house and when i got home i noticed i have a return fuel line leaking. So i got it fixed today and now ive had time to drive it and play with the Smarty for a bit.

Its amazing what just a converter and valve body will do to a truck. Ive been told to expect an increase in fuel mileage. After i had calculate a full tank i will post the results.

So if your looking for a great deal on an awesome set up for your tranny, give FTE a call.

Thanks again Wally.:thumbsup

I am wanting to do the same mods on my truck but I was thinking about going with Georend triple disc and possibly the HTS towing valve body...that vb is on sale right now for $200.

-Is the towing vb what you went with or was it the "ultimate" one?
-Is the converter also HTS or did you use a dif brand?
-If you don't mind sharing...how much did these mods set you back and what did the install cost?

Well, i didnt do the triple disk due to a lot of in town and highway driving not under a load. I didnt want the hard lock up. Not saying that triples are bad, they do the job that they are made for. Singles are less friction and ive been told that with this set up i have a great possiability of seeing an improvement in MPG's. Some where in the ball park of 2 to 4.

The valvebody, with my understanding, is kinda like a street body. (HTS) It was modified for my specific converter which is also modified. (HTS also) You will have to call Wally and talk to him personally about the specifics. He will tell you everything you need to know about the set up if your intrested.

As far as the cost goes, you should ask Wally for that also. I think its purty reasonable, and a very good product. There is alot of fine tuning that is in this set up. He can tell ya bout it. I recommend it to anyone.:thumbsup

Well so far with a partical calculation ive gained about 2 mpg. Just filled up today so i will run this tank (while driving senseably) and see what i get with the improvements ive made. I also have an S&B intake system coming, although im not sure if it will make much difference against my AEM, but we will see.

Congrats Stinnett. Glad you are happy with the tranny mods, and good luck with the future mods. I am hoping to be doing the same soon, if I can keep from breaking other things!! You have performed the best mod I can think of on your truck.:thumbsup

Well it does seem kinda costly just for a few mpg gain but its the longevity of the truck that im trying to take care of.

I want the longevity, but I also wanna be able to put some power to the ground, without risking blowing it up right away!!
