Question Why is my truck blowing so much smoke?

Okay i Bought a 2004.5 automatic trans in march.
It does not have a chip.(that i can find)
It will blow a lot of smoke if i hammer down at the start. It will blow some at a 40 mph roll. And the best gas millage i can get is 12.5-12.8 MPG.
It does have a 3" lift and 35" tires.
What could be done to my truck to make it blow so much smoke and have such poor gas millage? 35" tires should not effect the gas millage this much should it?
What can i do to get better MPG and find out what is done to my truck?
Could it be injectors? Does the computer need to be reflashed?

The lift and tires are going to hurt the millage......it could have injectors or a programmer on it....if its a programmer and it didn't come with the truck , that can be trouble if you need to have work done such as a re flash.

Okay what is the best way of finding that out?
How do i know if it had a programmer on it?(My guess is that is what has happened)
I bought it from a dealer so i have nobody to contact about its history.
Anyone know what a re-flash is going for these days?

The longer I've had my truck the more it seems it will smoke.

The truck is stock with the exception of the BHAF and Magnaflow muffler. I fear it is an injector going bad.

You need to get your truck dealer bound asap! They can do a complete fuel pressure check as well as remap and upgrade a new map. you should be around 15 to 17 with an easy foot and taller tires. you will spend around 200.00 at dealer. it will be worth it though.

Would it be an injector if:
When i hammer down it smokes like crazy but once the turbo spools up it will spin the 35's on dry pavement.(that is when i have a lead foot) No matter how i drive......It still gets about the same mileage.(it varies between 12.3-12.8ish)
Thanks for the advice i will get it in ASAP.

request a title history on the truck and find out who the last owner was.
call em up and ask what all, if anything, they did to the truck.

Well i got it back from the dealer yesterday and it is running normal now. It ended up being some kind of programmer that was previosly on it and they re-flashed the computer. Don't know what my fuel mileage is yet. But it has a lot les power. HA HA thats okay i have my Edge Juice w/ attitude coming as we speak!!

Just curious, how is your fuel filter doing? I know my truck starts to smoke a bit more when my filter starts to clog.

something that could be wrong that's really easy to fix, stuck or removed thermostat.
I've seen a 2000 a friend bought used that the guy before had removed the thermostat because he pulled a heavy camper with it.

It can effect MPG and smoke if the engine isn't reaching operating temp. check you guages.
