A write up with pics and part numbers for all the fittings and such would be great. Thanks for doing all the research too.

Good write up AH! You have to keep this one going with some pics and parts. I am looking into GDP's system and share your concern for the best filtration as well.

It was found that most 2 micron filters on the old standard were 5-7 on the new standard, so some filters are even better but rated higher.

So what I gathered was that Baldwin and Fleetguard now report on the new standard... which is a change and why many refer to the filters as 2 microns... And Cat and Donaldson still report on the old system.

So the Baldwin BF7633 meets all the requirements of the 1R0750, and I can get the 7633 for about $4 cheaper, so thats what I will run...

It kinda annoyed me that companies are reporting ratings based on 2 standards... but they all filter about the same...

Interesting.....good stuff man!:thumbsup

Very good info, thanks for posting it.

I'm running the BF1212 and BF7633 between the OE lift pump and OE filter for now, based on your findings about the 1212 I might switch to a vacuum setup between the 1212 and the 7633 - my fuel pressure measured before the OE filter isn't exactly great at WOT with the stock LP which is another reason for redoing the system.

What will your pressure drop to?

I am thinking that if I ever go to a different fuel pump it will probably be the Walbro between the 1212 and the OEM filter. I am thinking that the 03-04 "draw straw" would probably be best as well.. .I don't need the volume, just the reliability at low fuel.

Currently my fuel pressure sensor is after the Bladwins and before the OEM filter so 2 filters, no telling what the pressure is like at the IP.

Alright so I did some more digging... well actually the Baldwin guy told me they use a multipass rating for there fuel filters... WTF.. thats for oil filters...

So back to the drawing board, the BF7633 is only 7 microns single pass. The PF7977 stays 5 microns, and the BF1212 is 97.88% (not quite absolute) at 20 microns...

So I am going to keep the BF1212's I have, I returned the BF7633's, if favor of the Cat 1R0750.

Here is my install thread.

He didn't misspeak, in fact he gave me the ISO standard for multi-pass. Since then I have found Cummins and Cat data stating that baldwin uses multi-pass on some of there filters.
