how to test the fca

I have been suspicious for some time of lack off press. now that I have installed the sp box with the rail press. guage I'm seeing low press. readings, the max rail press. I get with any box or any stack is 18000,so it's leading me to thinking it's bad fuel control actuator, rather then just bolting a new one on I was wondering if there was any way to test the one on my truck.

Has anyone really seen pressures much higher than 18 to 19? I have checked brand new engines in industrial applications that were speced to get 22,000+ and could never get one to go over 17,500. Just curious because I have not checked one in a truck yet. I was told that 17,500 was normal.

Supposedly about 23,500 is normal for the 03/04 engines and that is about what I would see at WOT before all the mods.

How often do these go bad on a stock truck...I know pressure boxes tend to kill them...

I guess this is something I'll have to look into myself...it just doesn't have the ummph it did when new...I've been wondering about this...

I don't know how often they go bad but I have tried everything else and it still is lacking in power so i'm gonna get a fca if I can get a part number and try that it's about all thats left to try.

Think you could take a picture of the fca and where it is on the truck? I feel lazy tonight...don't feel like digging through my FSM right now...
