2006 Ram 3500 Gear Indicator not working

The gear indicator stop working in my 2006 Dodge Cummins and of course will not start. I changed the neutral safety switch , didn't help. Anyone have any ideas? Would appreciate any help?

Please fill out your signature, (ie. - mods on the truck), under the "UserCP" tab so folks will know what mods you have. It will help in the diagnosis.

I know a Smarty programmer can cause the indicator to go blank with certain defuel options but I 'm sure you have something else going on since it won't start. Does it turn over?

Good luck.

Can you get ANY lights on the dash when moving the gear selector? Frequently the shift cable will get out of adjustment and you will have to move the shifter to get it to start. Adjusting the cable will usually cure that unless you have a bad cluster or controller.

Thanks for the heads up on the signature line. No the truck will not turn over.

No I don't get any dash lights. I was thinking that the cluster/controller may be the problem, just hoping it wasn't. Thanks.

I do have some shift indicator lights, but will not go into park light indicator. I adjusted the shift cable, put in new neutral safety switch which gave me the indicator lights that I do have now. ECM fuse under hood, should both sides of that be hot. Thanks

Are the rest of the gears showing correctly? Is the transmission going into park?

Is it in park and just not showing or not in park at all? You can start it in neutral also.

Fat fingered from a dumb phone

No park

HAD THE SAME CONFUSING PROBLEM....EVERYTHING WORKED BUT THE PARK INDICATOR... ORDER A NEW SHIFT ARM (TOP OF VB, & CONNECTS TO SHIFT CABLE) I PUT A NEW ONE IN AND EVERYTHING GOOD.:party018:

Yea when I move the shifter I can find the gears they are lit and the transmission is going into park just not showing on indicator.

Put the transmission in drive and adjust the cable to read D. Make sure you can move between D and N and they light correctly. Adjust until this works. At that point all your gears should work and light correctly. If the don't likely problem is the rooster comb on top of the VB.

Old shift arm was hitting the neutral safty switch, put a new arm on and all is well,...
