Water pump failure.

Now I'm sure there's a thread somewhere already because it seems alot of peoples go out early. but I searched and can't really find what I'm looking for. So my water pump is just starting to leak at 58000 miles. I called Dodge, they want 280 for one, and I called my local cummins dealer they want $411 for a new water pump! Wtf where do i get a Good water pump for a decent price? I think 400 even 300 bucks is just rediculous for such a simple little part. Anyways someone please tell me what they have done and if its lasted. Thanks

NAPA? I got mine for somewhere around $40, no problems for the last 10k miles. Heck, I could buy 10 of those for what a cummins one costs.

The dealer quoted me 275 and three days to get it plus 4.95 for the gasket called the local place and they had a napa for $60. It only took two hours and comes with the gasket, I think that's a no brainer!

Geno's sells Gates water pumps.

My co-worker was charged $800 to change out a water pump, thermo and fluids on his Duramax @ 78K.
We've got it good.

Our water pump is as basic/simple as a water pump can be. I got my replacement from Advanced Auto. It is a GMB brand pump and was brand new. I paid $46 out the door. I have had it on my truck now for almost 2yrs and 40,000 miles. I have not noticed a single difference in operating temps compared to the OEM pump. This past summer I towed 20K combined from MD to TX. When I got to AR and TX, the outside temps were reaching 106F. The temp gauge was rock steady the whole time.
