2006 48re Tsb

Just to let everyone know, there's a TSB for the '06. I called about it, they said it would take less than an hour to do the "reflash." Turns out it's NOT A FLASH! They have to tear the tranny apart and replace some parts. I will be heading back (I didn't have time to let them do it today) next week to have it done.

Any idea what the TSB is supposed to rectify?

Wonder if it's the same TSB and service as it is for the 04s... Speaking of which I called my dealership and they said that they would have to diagnose the problem before they would perform the TSB. Is this BS or is this standard practice for dealers?

Mine is going in for that TSB thursday. I beleive the mechanic said it is a soleniod that controls pressure in the trans. I was having a problem with the trans kinda not being able to decide weather it wanted to shift from 2nd to 3rd or stay in 2nd. The tach would go up and down rapidly when it was trying to decide to shift or not, until you rolled onto the throttle some more and it would shift up.

Dang Autos, I wouldn't give ya a nickle for a truck load of em.

That's the exact same "hunting" that mine is doing. The dealer wanted $100 to drive it and see if they could verify the problem. Every time I've let them drive it they never notice anything, those lazy bums!

Well I don't think the service advisor would have known about it if the mechanic wouldn't have been right there to tell him about it. The mechanic knew right away when I described the symptoms. My wife said the truck did it after she left the dealership.

Apparently it is not a quick fix from what the mechanic said.

Not to pile on, but I have noticed it while starting out slowly for stop.
I've felt it before, but really paid no attention to it since it rarely happened before. Then this morning it hit me like a tone of bricks!

I'm at 23,000mi (that's 37,015km for our Canadian folk.:thumbsup)

Apparently the mechanic is looking to pad his hours.

Its a 15 minute job with the pan off for a filter change. Any more than a 1/2 hour and they are getting over paid.

There is a flash for the shift strategy that can also be applied.
