I am having a similar issue with my 2001 2500 QCSB . On the highway anything over 60 I have a vibration and noise. It is hard to explain but it onlu happens under load it Kind a sounds like " wo,wo,wo,wo. But if I back off the pedal and still maintain the speed it goes away. It seems to be Rpm and Speed relatied. I am pulling my hair out. I have the ujoints and balanced the rear shaft, alignment, new tires, Fluid dampner. Any other suggestions.

My next step is pull the rear shaft and run it in 4wd and see if it is the rearend. The thing is I have been on it hard for a while. Its been going on for 10 months. I tow a 15000 pound gooseneck trailer alot freighted and I went from CT to PA towing a Rock Buggy on it hard with my chip and fass pump. Had the noise but no problems. Roughly 16 hrs trip both ways.

Looks like its a fairly normal problem, with a number of fixes, NONE of which are covered under warranty (except for driveline angle adjustment).

broken tooth in transfer case
i have a 2006 2500 ctb. mine started vibrating at 70 mph. started by replacing ujoints, then checked tires. finally diagnosed problem with broken tooth in transfer case. ordered new transfer case, $1455, and problem solved. costly all-be-it, but it worked.

Just joined the forum, so far i gained alot of insight. I have the same vibration problem at 55 to 70. I just lifted my 01, and the vibration is from the front driveshaft. Had it ballanced 3 times by 3 different shops, everything seems to check good. Take out the shaft and no vibration. Everyone i talk to say's with a 5" lift the stock shaft should work fine. Possible bearing in the t-case? Not Sure.

Have a 6 inch lift with 2 inch blocks on mine and I had that same f ing noise. Had to remove the front drivveshaft and take it to clutch and joint out of indy and they lengthened it for me. It cost 65 dollars for them to put a new tube in it for me. If you shake your front driveshaft there should be no slop. Mine had about a inch of slop in it and you could probably imagine how much noise i got when it was turning.

I have new tires, front and rear shaft ujoints, wheel bearings, tranny, drained and inspected ring/pinion and the vibration is still there! My transfercase oil is clean as new. My wheels and driveshafts are balanced perfect. It does not feel like it is in the front. Mt transfercase shifter doesn't vibrate. But at 70 the truck is ruff. I can accelerate up to 80 and feel it right at 70 and when the speed comes down to 70 same thing. I was in a bad ice storm in december coming out of NY and the next day it started. I almost rebuilt the hole truck trying to find it.... still there!

One thing you can do is put it on a set of jack-stands and run it up to speed, accelerate slowly, and take it to speed then slowly take it down in speed. If it doesn't vibrate then it angles or the front end.
