Have heard ONLY really good things about Redhead, though IIRC one person suggested checking the screws that hold the bottom of the box on as theirs came loose after a month or so.

Red Head is legit! I had one of there boxes on my old '99 F250 worked great. The only steering company I use now is PSC top of the line stuff IMHO. I use their parts on my Jeep, and when I need something for my truck it will be this

03-05 Dodge extreme steering or 06-08 Dodge extreme steering

But nothing wrong with Red Head!

I have bought reman steering gear boxs in the past as well as new ones, and the redhead is deffinitly the best out there. To get a steering gear box, rebuild it and adjust it properly is something not everyone can do. I have had a redhead steering box for about 10k and am very pleased with it. Make sure you get a stablizer to go with it.

Ok so I have completely rebuilt the front end of my truck new moog ball joints and inner and outer tierods new tires the only thing I didn't replace was steering shock and power steering box and after i got the truck aligned it still wandered all over road and took back 2 shop that aligned and they said powrrsteering power was lose so I tightened it up and it still wanders all over the road is that because the ateering shock needs 2 b replaced or the powersteering box or botb?

what were your alignment numbers? caster should be at 5.20~5.25 or greater... not too much as to cause pinion bearing noise though

How many miles on the control arms? <- could be the problem if there are a lot of miles on it

edit: if the CAB bushings are shot the front end will push back & forth which would cause it to wander. meaning the right or left side of the axle will push back towards the cab enough for it to change direction enough to wander. Had this happen on a grand cherokee (same front end), and both rams. (2001 & current 2005)

I cannot say enough good things about redhead. I called when the owner was on vacation, he actually called me on his cell phone while he was towing through the rockies. From what I was told they put bigger stronger bearings in. I don't know much about that stuff, but my box is working really well and I like seeing that red paint on it

We have Red Head steering gears in all 3 of our current trucks and had one in my old Flame Red 12v that had 280K on it and the last 180K on one of their boxes.

I was recommended to them by some of the hard core off roaders from Pirate 4x4 and once we bought the first one we did all the trucks later. We are very satisified with the product and would recommend them to anyone.
