Shuttle shift??? 06 48re

So on my Dads truck hes having the classic shuttle shift issue. Its only between 1st and 2nd at about 20mph, empty. Itll just hang there. And if he gives it more, it will eventually shift up and drive "normal" threw the rest of the gears. It has a smarty jr and a TS Shift Master on 20%. Any ideas?? thanks

I think you may have to search around a bit. When you say hang there do you mean hang in first or bounce between 1st and second mainly on light throttle acceleration? The latter is shuttle shift. Shift kit's and upgraded GM solenoids are said to fix it MOST of the time.
If you have more than 60,000mi it's time to adjust the bands on the trans. The one that might help your problem a tiny bit is on the outside of the trans on the left.

04.5,QCSB, Goerend full billet, 4:10's, MPI 63/475,Engineered diesel 63, Exergy 40%'s,Dual CP3's, gauges, Airdog 2 165, S-06 TNT R and Gordon's UDC,edge JWA CTS, Top Gun Customz 3 1/2", Carli BJ's, BIG steering box, 5100's, Helo 791's with 35's.
When all's said and done there's usually a whole lot more said than there is done.

Well itll hang in 1st sometimes and bounce between 1st and 2nd under light throttle. The truck has 145k.. I dont think the bands have been tightened either.

Adjust your bands. If that dont work upgrade the gov press solenoid (use search function for more info on that). Usually it's one of those two.
