p2146 what the heck is going on ?

my truck keeps flashing this code (P2146 cylinders 1-3 shotened high or low) it always happens when i have started my truck, pull out to get going, and push on the throtle about 1/4 of the way then it pings and chugs lets out a little whiteish smoke and looses all power for about 15 sec. or so then it resets or whatever it does then it is back to normal ? i have sent my juice back to edge to get re-flased twice and it still does it every 2-3000 miles. i thought maybee it might be draining my rail but it never happens when i am flooring it only light throttle and if you look in my sig i should be geting plenty of fuel there. could it be too much pressure ? any help would be greatly appreciated thanks !

I had that before, but it was a wire harness issue. Sound's to me like it's your Edge module.

I nicked a wire on the internal injector harness when I installed the head stud's. It did it as soon as I started the truck, and ran like that until I found the short. With your's being intermitent, That's why I figured it was maybe in your module. I know this suck's, but you could try running without the module for a while and see what happen's.

yes i could but I don't think it is a problem with the edge cause i have tried a whole new system and it still did it. i talked to industrial injection today (when i was picking up my new turbo) and they said it sounds like I am popping the relief valve on the rail but I have no idea because it doesn't hapen very often at all

well if they said that i would'nt ask them anymore questions... popping the relief valve would throw a p0191 fuel press rationality code because of the difference in pressure between actual and setpoint, the P2146 cylinders 1-3 shotened high or low is and electrical issue...

possible causes:

OTHER DTC'S
HIGH SIDE DRIVER CIRCUIT OPEN
LOW SIDE DRIVER CIRCUIT OPEN
HIGH SIDE DRIVER SHORTED TO LOW SIDE DRIVER
HIGH SIDE DRIVERS SHORTED LOW
LOW SIDE DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORTED OTHER LOW SIDE DRIVER CIRCUIT
LOW SIDE DRIVERS SHORTED LOW
HIGH SIDE DRIVER SHORTED TO VOLTAGE
LOW SIDE DRIVER SHORTED TO VOLTAGE
LOW SIDE DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORTED IN INJECTOR HARNESS
INJECTOR
INJECTOR HARNESS
ECM

id be looking at your box or wiring harness like BBRam said...

Just had injector harness replaced after a P2146 code

For those of you who have had your injector harness replaced on your 5.9...Did the dealer do the work under the 100k powertrain warranty?

Let me re-phrase that last question....

Should the replacement injector harness be covered under warranty?

I appreciate any and all input.
