high idle

just wondering if anyone has had a promblem with this I went to dealer for a/c warrenty work and asked them if they could turn the high idle on to work with the cruise control got the truck back a/c works a little better but they said won't do the high idle did'nt say why just that they would'nt.

Maybe take it to another dealer. or you could kill 2 birds with 1 stone buy a Smarty and it will enable your high Idle. :thumbsup

I'm guessing they had no idea what you were talking about. My dealer didn't either, I had to show them. Several other people had the same experience. Go figure, the dealer tech's get this cool new toy (star scan tool) and they don't explore it to see what it can do.

Yeah, I had to pull out the owners manual and show my dealer before they realized it could be done. Don't know why it's so complicated, but it makes you wonder what else they don't know.

Actually, it's called "Fast Idle".

High Idle is 100% Throttle, 0% Load.

Fast Idle can be done on a 06 spd manual right?

No usually on the autos they have the high idle initiated....on the manuals they don't. On mine I had to buy a pin connector wire and push the pin into the main wiring harness off the engine and ground it out and wah la it worked

It can be done just like the auto, but they put a switch on your clutch that goes back to the PCM that tells it that it is in "Park" like an auto. My buddy got his installed from the dealer.
