ANyone know of an online place to get the clutch switch. I am not sure where the local cummins truck shop is and I sure don't want to pay the dealer price for that switch.

I wouldn't worry about the switch, I didn't, Anyone who drives a standard is most likely to depress the brake before letting the park brake off which will kill the high idle before you even get to hitting a gear with the clutch....you can buy the wire for the ground out for about 15 bucks at a Cummins dealer

The Cummins P/N is 408985100. That is for the switch kit. I don't know about the pigtail part number.

I'm not sure what the pig tails part number is either but basically it is a wire with a pin on one end that fits into one of the holes on the connector off the engine and the other end has a wire connector crimp on it so you can add another length of wire to ground the pig tail out to your battery post or wherever you decide to ground it. I can take a picture of it if you'd like me to.

The Pig tail part number is 3824810. Cummsins sells them for $12.00. I'm going to pick mine up now because the dealer wanted to charge me $307 just for the Clutch switch Kit. Then more $$$ to install it. As it is, I can't find a dealer that won't charge me out the butt to just turn the software on. Going to cost me $86.00 + the Pig tail. Guess that's better than the $567 the dealer quoted me to to the switch and turn the software on.

So the pigtail is all you need to ground #22? Do you have to modify it at all?

any pics of the install would be great. I am going to do it to dads when he comes to town next month, and want to know what I am up against....

His dealer in WA wont even turn the software on, they think it will void the warranty... damn dealerships in yuppie central...

Well, got the part from the Cummins dealer in New Hudson, MI today. $12.72 was the final price. All you need to do the install on pin #22 is Part #3824810 from your local Cummins dealer, a 10mm wrench to undo the ground right next to the ECM plug, a 4mm alan wrench to undo the ECM conector, a 5 inch piece of black wire, a small size ring terminal, a crimper and a paper clip.

Step 1: Undo the ECM connector from the ECM using the 4MM alan wrench.

Step 2: Using the paper clip, Push it through PIN #22 from the engine side to get the little orange rubber plug out.

Step 3: Remove the 10mm nut from the ground, You'll see the ground right next to the where the connector plugs into the ECM.

Step 4: Connect the Black wire to the cummins part you bought. Connect the ring terminal to the other side.

Step 5: Push the pin on the cummins part into port #22 on ECM wire harness. Should be to the right of a black wire on the connector. Keep pushing till you hear a click and feel the pin seat itself into the connector. Gently pull back on the wire to see if it snapped in.

Step 6: Connect the Ring terminal to the ground.

Step 7: Go to Dealer and have them charge you up the wazoo to enable the software.

I have an appointment on Monday morning at 8:00AM to have the software enabled. We'll see if it works!

I will also post some pictures as to what I did. Wasn't very hard at all.

You have an auto. Putting the truck in park is what grounds out pin #22 of the ECM wiring harness from what I understand. As for the flash I have no Idea why they are pimping me but who knows. I'm going to try and bribe the tech into turning on my fog lights with the bright lights and the turn signal lane change feature on. We'll see what happens....

So my dad brought up an interesting point today... Do you still have to press on the clutch to start the rig? Or does grounding #22 act like a clutch start cancel switch as the rig thinks its in park?
