Egr?

Do we have an EGR valve in our Cummins? I was reading in DieselPlace, that the D-maxes have a EGR delete kit, but I have never read of one for a Cummins.

Cummins does not have an EGR valve on the 03-07. Our EGR is accomplished through the cam. So in order to remove the EGR you will need to replace the cam with an aftermarket one.

The EGR works through the valve timing allowing some of the recently spent exhaust gas to stay in the cylinder. Pretty slick system IMHO no coolers or soot in the intake.

The 6.7l Dodge CTDs DO have an EGR though. Those did not come out until mid 07....

Well the 04.5+ engines all have EGR (5.9 and 6.7) but the 6.7s have the external cooler cause they have more.
