Code P0203, and P2146 Help Please

Hello all

I have an all stock 2007 5.9 Dodge. It has 114k that has had almost zero issues till this last month. I drive twice a month over the passes from Seattle to Wenatchee for work. After one of these trips I was sitting in my truck on the job site with it idling doing some paper work. The truck started to run rough for no reason. It sounded like it was running on 4 cylinders. I tried to drive it around the site to see if it would clear up, but it was running on 4 cylinders for sure. The check engine light came on at the same time as the rough running condition started.

I shut off the truck and went inside to do some work, and returned 2 hours later with a plan to change the fuel filter. I called a friend in the area, and had them pick up a filter from town and bring it to the site. Once he was on site I started the truck to show my friend how bad it sounded, only to have it start and run smooth.

We changed the filter anyhow, and it was dirty, but not plugged looking.

Long story short, I drove it home without any further problem, and figured my issue was over. Fast forward 10 days. I was driving home from a good workout at my gym, and went to pass someone. I put the pedal to the wood, and the truck shifted down and the engine late came on. The motor acted like it dropped 2 cylinders again, so I pulled over.

I turned the truck off, and let it sit for a few minutes, called my wife, informed her that she might have to pick me up, then restarted my truck and it ran like a champ. I spent Friday doing some reading here on the forums, and learned of the trick to pull codes The Codes I pulled were P0203 Fuel Injector 3 circuit, and P2146 Fuel injector Group 1 Supply Voltage Circuit.

I am smart enough to understand that I have an electrical issue going on in my fuel injection system. My question to you guys is these. Have any of you had this type of issue, and if what direction was this fix? I am guessing this is a loose plug, or an ECM that is failing. Any help would be great.

Sorry for the long read, just wanted you all to have the details.

Cris

the 07 and 06 have been known to have the injector harness short out. this has happened to a buddy of mine and my truck. We also had the an injector short out later not sure if the harness caused it or not. the symptons that you describe are the same thing that happened on both trucks. the harness is on back order

Happened to me a few months ago, I have an 04 though. Mine ended up being my ECM, but what richard said is most likely the cause. There are a bunch of things it could be though.

* Injector harness

* Injector solenoid

* Injector harness interior (under valve cover)

* ECM

* Bad batteries

* Glitched ECM

This is what I went through and it ended up being my ECM, but you have not to worry to bad, your injector harness in the rear is more likely the suspect

wow just happened to me today, so driving into work and the CEL comes on, so I was like okay call my buddy at dodge and get him to look at it. Well later in the day pull out of somewhere and the truck made a noise and the whole truck like chunked or jumped in a sense downshifted and EB got really loud. So I pull over and then bam CEL goes away and Im back on my way.

So Im taking it in cuz that lil Jump or buck it pulled in the road wasnt cool at all!! checked the code and got P203

ok I just got in from lifting the valve cover. I inspected all the wires and gasket really well and don't see any problems at all. I then got my mulitmeter and did some ohm testing and my #2 injector ohmed out a 9 and all the rest are running .5-.6. So, does that mean my injector is shot or mabe my injector solenoid??
