I just dropped my truck off at the dealer yesterday for these same 2 codes. I will let you know what they say, but of course when I dropped it off it cleared up and was running fine..

if yours cleared up, then id bet its either the wiring harness or the valve cover gasket which has the injector harness built iin

Bad shaking, and a bad miss every few seconds like it stalled out. No power at all. Ran a scanner on it and it showed these codes. Did an injector kill test and injectors 2,4,6 are firing and injectors 1,3,5 are not firing. Do you think it could be the harness or an injector. Going to try and do the ohm test on the injectors this afternoon.

yours is doing the exact same thing mine was. Id unhook the injector wire harness(on the side of the block) and check to make sure its not corroded or something and try pushing the connector back together good and see if that helps

I tried that. Connections looked great. Still throws code and runs bad.

im wondering if the harness itself of the valve cover gasket is shot. You may also have some bad injectors.

My '07 5.9, 80,000 mi, all stock, did this two weeks ago. Same thing, cut out driving down the road at 60 mph, barely run. Pulled off and shut it off, checked for codes, none. Restarted it and within 30 seconds started running fine. Finally got it in the dealer last week and the tech found the same two codes (not displayed with the key trick). Changed out 1,2,and 3 injectors. Said the harness/plug was fine. It did run well but has cut out once or twice since then which makes me think it is either the other injectors or the harness is bad. I have been having trouble with it missing, especially under load, for about two months. Checked/changed fuel filter, air filter ok. I have talked to the tech a couple of times about it in the past, but basically since it threw no codes and the infamous "could not duplicate" excuse from his boss, he said just let it go, it won't be long before the real reason becomes obvious. Just in a holding pattern now waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Gasket/harness looked fine once I got the cover off. Did a OHM test on all 6 and the very first one closest to the front of truck read 3.8 OHMS the other 5 were between .5 and .6 ohms. Getting a new injector tomorrow and going to get a new harness for peace of mind.

I have been fighting this issue for 6 months... It comes and goes and finally I found the problem... It was my harmonic Damper on the front of the truck. The dang thing was coming off. Three of the four bolts broke off with the index pin.. I was surprised the thing even ran... Well got the bolts out and a new Harmonic balancer and shes running like a new truck now and not throwing any codes. hope this helps.

2007 2500 cummins megacab

im having the exact same prob as docroth, but im at 100000km 60000miles. i had #4 injector replaced under warranty. 10 days later, apparently threw P0203 and P2146 the stealership in calgary told me, get this, since there is dirt in the fuel filter housing and the filter is dirty, we cant warranty any more injectors, can anyone tell me where the dirt should be, other than outside of the filter. sounds like the filter is doing its job. 2500 bucks to replace injector, clean tank and lines, and they have voided any other warranty on injectors, keep this in mind, they havent found dirt beyond the filter, they have done no further investigating, other than the codes, the valve cover wasnt removed to get more info, i am now left with taking it to a diesel shop here in calgary to get a second opinion, then maybe trade or go to court, any insight would be appreciated

hey guys. beaten to death subject but wanted couple things clarified. some guys are saying to check resistance on injectors to ensure they are less than approx 1 ohm. if the problem is intermittent, (bout once a year), would it show as bad if symptom is not present at time of checking?
also would it be an indicator that it may not be the injector, even tho p0203 code along with p2146, if problem only happened once about one year ago and once a couple days ago.
it is a 2006 I picked up couple years ago with about 160k on it. unsure what was done before for maintenance. it now has 230k and I have just done regular services to it. only mods are cat delete 4" exhaust and k&n filter.
the truck has been running fine for about a day but if an injector is gone I will have it replaced. just would rather not if it's just the valve cover gasket. thanks for any info
