I'm hoping that's where my ticking/ knocking is coming from is the valvetrain. It sure sounds like a noise that a rotating assembly would make, but if it was a rod bearing, wouldn't my motor have already grenaded? I've been driving it for probably 200 miles (hard in town driving) and it's still together. I know it's probably due for new injectors too, the originals are still in there with 111,000 miles and this thing has been idled alot in its life. Has 3590 engine hours, so for 111,000 miles that's a life average of 30.9 mph which means a lot of idling before i owned it.

my tick tick sounds like you are tapping a quarter on the windshield, took it to dealer and we call chrysler and they say that the injector pump is an isue with the phaseing of the gears. They say it is normal operation but haveing worked at the dealer as long as i have that means that until you they don't fix and tsb's will not be sent out. To make a long story short the dealer will fix under warranty--you just have to diagnose it for then and print out this thread and take it in with you.

It is hard to tell from that video. Get a sound clip around the driver's side front corner and outside the garage.

Great news, the damn tick-tick-tick is gone. We turned the cp3 gear 30 degrees and it is a fix and I am happy, I had to tell the dealer what to do but it is done so all you guys if your getting an anoying tick at idle, operating temp in gear, then this will most likely fix it and I don't think I am crazy but the engine in general is quieter. Now I am going to sell it so anyone who wants a 34000 mile SLT Thunder Road 5.9 4x4 let me know.
