just tightened mine yesterday, it's a coolant line, apparently a common problem on our trucks. heard there is a replacement available from the dealer to get the ID of the hose right, why they couldn't from the factory is anyone's guess. crank em down tight and they should hold for a bit, and keep an eye it until you have the longterm fix, hope this helps...

Mine leaked in the same place as well. I usually have to tighten it a little when I change the oil.

Check out this thread.
mcwinward That is a coolant line. That little hose is there to isolate the engine movement from that fixed line. Check out the thread in the link below. There is an "improved" part to replace that section of hose. Cost roughly $20. The spring clamps are supposed to be an improvement over the worm gear hose clamps as they can expand and contract as the parts heat up. About half way down is a large picture of the new parts and the part numbers for them. http://www.dieseltruckresource.com/d...ight=5179114AB

This should be the line that comes from the transmission cooler - so you should have an auto. It will follow the block along the passenger side and route behind it to the driver side where the transmission exchange sits. There is a line that also connects into the heater core. Not a big deal. You either need to tighten it or replace the clamp. |
