Maintain the entire cooling system... you may need to pull the radiator and pressure wash from the back side. Over time bugs, dirt, etc build up and decrease the ability of the radiator to do its job-

i just got a 06 on fri and took it out that night with my 35ft hauler behind it and noticed on my way home today that it was running about 205-210 on the highway about the whole trip, at about 70-75mph. then when i got off the highway and was in town it dropped back down to 190 or so. and my trailer weighs about 13k. so i was wondering the same thing what temps thse cummins run at. hey it could be worse i just got rid of my pos duramax that with the same load would hit 250 deg on some hillls! and the pos would only get 7 mpg.

Dude! when mine did that - it was bone dry. Bad water pump antifreeze all over the outside of the engine instead of inside!
