Burning oil!

Well the other day I posted a thread about my truck burning about three quarts of oil in a thousand miles. Well finally took it in to a Cummins mechanic and after looking at it he said that the turbo was bad. The turbo had just been put in it about six months ago. What could cause the turbos to go out.

Do you have a programmer or box and gauges? How hot do your egt's get? Is it a 6.7?

It is a 2003 manual six speed no chip just straight piped. I have only drove the truck a thousand miles since I bought it. It only has 125,000 miles on it as of right now.

Look in the classifieds at the top of the page. Do you know any history of the truck?

Do some research on the modification a lot of guys with 03's do. You can put on a turbo from an 04.5 or newer truck, which is a little bigger, and will give you a little bigger downpipe as well. This should give you a little more air, and some cooler EGT's. I'm no expert on this mod, so like I said, do some searching.
