Great info and site new guy on here is there a password for the rar files for the manuals?

Its all relative to what it was before you took the nut loose.

Measure and record the amount of torque necessary to rotate the pinion gear with an inch pound torque wrench

Remove it and do whatever work you're planning on doing, then when you put the nut back on, tighten it down and then:

Measure pinion rotating torque with an inch pound torque wrench and compare it to recorded measurement. Tighten pinion nut in small increments, until pinion rotating torque is 0.40-0.57 N·m (3-5 in. lbs.) greater than recorded measurement.

alright i gotta ask the stupid question. was just checking out the 2003 manual, and it looks like it's for a 3.7 L gas truck. am i missing the diesel manual?

This might be a dumb question, but why is there only a certain type of oil filters you can use that wont void your warranty

Cummins dealer gave me a 10 micron fuel filter for '00-'02 motors instead of the 7 micron. Everything seemed to match up fine though. I forgot my part # list when I went to the place. He also gave me a oil filter that's not stratapore. What does stratapore mean anywhoo?
