Excellent info. I put one in mine earlier today. I did use the resistor and put it on the ground side. It works great.

I did some other work and ended up with a P0073 code. According to my cheat sheat that is for ambient temp so I don't know what's up. I did clean the air filter. I checked the connector etc and all seems fine.

Anyway to clear my code? disconnet batteries? or do i have to go see someone?

A Smarty will clear the code if you know someone that has one. Also you can take it to an Auto parts store and have them clear it for you.

So on a 2003, I have the option of using the resistor or putting a jumper on the relay?

The resistor seems like the cleaner way to install it.

Anyone know where to find a momentary on foot switch?

The only time the TC locks normally is in 4th gear. In T/H mode, it will lock in 3rd.

This will allow you to pick a gear and lock the TC in 1st or 2nd.

It's a GREAT mod for exhaust brake use if yo udon't have one of the stand alone controllers.
Have you ever ran at the track in T/H mode? I would think it would yield better times.

Thanks for the info on the 3rd gear lockup! I had been wondering about this.

I'm kinda new to the cummins world so take it easy on me. I've heard a lot about the cummins lock up switch, but I'm not sure what its for. I know it's for lock up, but how is it useful? towing? racing? Also doesn't the torque converter have to unlock for it to shift. Seems like a lot of trouble to go screwing around and messing up the tranny.

Thats why you need billet shafts and a good torque converter.

Yeah, I have a late model '06 ('07) I had to use a 10ohm resistor also. It works great! I wired it up to a push on/ push off switch.
