Jake Brake from man. work on auto?

I'm looking at Jake Brakes for curiosities sake & I keep finding ones for manual trucks. Can one be modified to work on my automatic? For example -

eBay:
Up for auction is a brand new Jacobs Exhaust Brake system for a Dodge Cummins 5.9 diesel for 2004.5 to 2006 trucks. This package fits manual tansmission trucks 2004.5 to 2006, and automatic tansmission trucks for the 2006 year. This is a complete ready to install kit from the dealer, that requires no cutting or welding. This is a bolt in kit. The part number from Dodge is: 82209823, and lists for $1325.00. I can not use this on my project vehicle as thought, and I no longer have the reciept to return it. I hope to recoupe some of my money through the auction. As you can see in the photos, this package has never been installed. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask, or visit your local Dodge dealer.

I know that for the Pac Brakes you need an ECM bypass kit for the 2005 auto trans trucks. Not sure if Jacobs is the same or not. I would think it would be as it has to do with the ECM on the truck and nothing to do with the brake. Basically the ECM bypass allows manual use of the brake instead of relying on the ECM to control it by rail pressure, temp, etc. I think the reason for this is because of the convertor needing to be locked in order for the brake to be useful but I can't be sure as I don't own any auto trans trucks. I'm not sure if the Jacobs web site has anything about it or not.

I went there a while ago & it had a little there, but I really had no idea about these things so I figured I'd ask.
