Twins drive pressure
I have read in a few threads that it can be dangerous to run a high drive pressure when you are running a set of twins. I have a set of PDR twins coming eventually, HX40 and HT3B. Later down the road when I install them, unless Brian is still looking to make a deal , I would rather like to not blow a head gasket. Obviously with my current fueling situation that is going to be hard, but I have built this truck doing everything only once and if I blow the head sky high because of something I am not going to be happy camper. So, when monitoring drive pressures, what should they be at and what is the best way to control them?

I will read it at as many points as necessary to keep it from blowing things up so if I have to have as many gauges as BBRam's truck so be it

I dont' think you'd need too many gauges...one boost after each turbo and one drive that you could switch between the two. Set the small turbo wastegate when the pressures get high enoguh that it's no longer 1:1 (or fairly close) then move the DP to the big-en and set it to 1:1..or a little higher if you want. Then either remove the DP or keep it reading at the manifold.... I've never set twins before, but that's how I would think it's done...if someone that has done it wants to chip in, please do so!! |

Yes, it will get sooty...I had mine hooked up for just a day and it was starting to narrow the tube. I don't see why a person couldn't try to "poke it open" every once in awhile, though? I've been trying to rig a setup for reading drive pressure through the pyro hole and when I do, I'm gonna leave it on permanent...guess we'll see how long it lasts

Several thousand miles here in the manifold. I used a large piece of copper tubing and coiled it around several times (probably 8 feet). Never a problem.

Rule of thumb from what I have heard. 1:1 from Drive Pressure (exhaust manifold) to overall boost reading (intake manifold) Bottom charger should be 1/2 of overall boost reading at the intake.

That makes sense to try and divide the load up evenly between the two turbos.
