Because the the modified airhorn gains is not at peak power, but from low to midrange. Around 1300-2000 rpms. The typical rpm range for driving.

Alcook59, Im not saying you can't make power with a stock third gen horn, but what i am saying is that they are very restrictive. See if you can see the restriction in this stock horn.

Why spend 2-300 $$$$ + on one of those things, just make your own like I did or go with someone who is fabricating them from scratch for hundreds less

I was checking out the GDP intake horn, all steel tapped with four ports and well under $300, that is a deal.:thumbsup

A dyno graph shows power through the entire rpm range, not just peak power. Trust me I've compared several.

Edit: By the way I'm not saying your wrong. I've just never seen any hard data that supports the claims.

I have seen dyno graphs between the different intake horn manufacturers done by a third party. Best gainer was CFM at around 50hp @ 1900 rpms IIRC. GDP is a close second. This was done on a slightly modified engine I believe.

I just installed the GDP intake and am more than happy with it. I didn't expect big gains and to be honest I didn't even expect much at all. It made a difference for sure. My truck is smoother and just feels stronger down low. I actually switched back to stock just to make sure I wasn't making it up. I quickly put the GDP back on. It was worth it to me as far as the price.

Thanks for the review, this is the one I am going to go with. For the price I can't believe more don't jump on this
