Ummm... This isn't computer software. It's a drill bit.

There is a high probability that people reading the info will still decide they won't do it themselves, then there are the additional customers who weren't going to buy a kit, but damage their stock components trying the DIY and buy one anyways...

I actually don't care what their specs are, the original instructions come from a shop that does the mods and was willing to share. We know the max restrictions in the system can't be changed. I'm actually just interested to see the quality of their modifications. As I can see from the first part posted, the one with the fuel inlet, they are just drilling out a stock new part.

Am I confused? I thought I wasn't reading the other forums anymore? lol.

I modded my FCA with a drill bit an and indexing collet on a mill. I drilled 6 additional holes around the diameter at the wide base of the triangles to increase flow. Let me first start off by saying that unless you have carbide drills that small, don't even try. The material that little cylinder is made out of is some real hard steel. Also, even though it isn't pointed out there it is pretty crutial to get that little dounut piece pressed back in to the exact same depth as it came out or else the preload on the spring is changed and won't run the best. If you have any questions about the process I will be happy to elaborate

I didn't do it like the write up, same theory, better execution. Have you ever seen what happens to a piece of stock when it gets grabbed by a cutoff wheel on a dremel? Yeah me too, and I didn't want something that has a line to line fit with no seals having that kind of gouges in the side of it. I took a small carbide drill bit and drilled radially into the center at 45 degree increments around the circumference. I say same theory, bucause the area calculations that they used are the same way I decided how many and what size holes to make. I may have pictures around here somewhere of what I did if you would like them.

oh, forgot to mention that mine works sweet. I polished it on a high speed lathe when I was done, mirror surface finish and no problems with sticking at all.

Awesome thanks for the advice! Did you mod the other two parts as well?

You say that it's "just a drill bit". But it really isn't. What happens when someone else gets the specs that Wicked uses for their kits. Then they market them as their own Arson kit..... If the "other guys" post how to do it, follow their instructions. Don't ask for how other shops do the mod, especially if they don't post the info to the public!

Oh and look up reverse engineering. Just because we live in the computer age, doesn't mean that's all it applies too.

You guys wanting the easy way out...their isn't one. Spend your time, and figure it out. Blow up some CP3's, damage some FCA's, try some things and fail, then try it again. Then once you do all that, make it even better.

Or just copy what someone else has already worked HARD to accomplish, if you do that, have some respect for what went into it.

Other TWO parts??? I know that there is the FCA and Gear Pump, What is the third?

I was thinking about pulling the little gear pump off the back some time soon to try that out as well, the FCA was the worst restriction, so I did that first. The only thing keeping me from doing the pump housing is the fact that my CP3 has 120000 miles on it so i am unsure of the condition of the profile seals in it. They seal fine how they are, but there is no doubt in my mind they have taken a pretty bad compression set and I haven't been to cummins to see if they sell those seals separate.

I agree with you and the whole blowing things up part, if done improperly, either by leaving a burr somewhere or not polishing enough, boom in a big expensive way. Hell, 350 bucks isn't so bad for the piece of mind in knowing you aren't going to turn your pump into a paper weight.
