03 to 04.5 turbo swap

Im thinking of buying a local turbo with 90k on it off a 04.5 truck for 250 bucks, do you guys think this is a good deal? Have any of you guys experienced any hp gains by doing this swap and cooler egt's? Thanks!

You will need a different exhaust eblow and I don't know but you may need a different wastegate controller since the 04.5 are purely electrical...

There are a few post about that and its a good choice. Do the swap its a tad bigger turbo and has netted some people who did the swap 45hp or more. You will like it and for the mon ey, its a good thing to do

I believe when I searched this awhile ago that you could swap the electrical control to the mechanical set up.

I don't think you need another elbow. It should clamp to the '03's elbow. Most don't tho, because the '03's elbow necks down to 3.5" where an '04.5 has a 4" elbow.
