Files for Bully Dog Triple Dog Down loader

Return truck back to stock. Click on file you want. Select open. Extract the files. Click on file to open up. Click on triple dog full memory up loader file. It will open up the download box. Hookup the triple dog to the computer. Once it is found by the up loader, select upgrade. Wait tell upgrade is 100% finished then go reinstall on truck. Setting will still say extreme but it will be the file you downloaded. First time users on that computer, plug the triple dog in, and wait tell it says on the bottom right of the screen, new downloads installed, or something similar to that. Then restart computer and complete the instructions above. Zip files will needed extracted with a zip file extracter, rar files will need to be extracted with a rar file extracter.

Use tunes at your own risk, aftermarket transmissions and clutchs are recommended.

Torque Management Password

To disable torque management on your triple dog type in the 13th 11th 9th and 7th characters of the serial number on your unit. This is for automatic tranny trucks only, it tells the ecm that it is a manual truck, so you will more then likely lose the gear reading on the dash. An aftermarket tranny is a must with this code or you will burn up your stock transmission. When installing the download on your truck is were it gives you the option to enter the password. I repeat this along with the larry files will burn up a stock transmission, and after market built tranny is a must.

does anyone know the specs of these tunes? like im running 2.4d and now since my upgrades egts are a little warm. on performance they are great though. i was thinking of trying pedifile larry, but im worried about the added rail psi... and too much timing. also can anyone confirm that the tow and performance tunes are always the same no matter what tune is on there?

#5 ·
Is that a crazy Larry tune? I thought that was the first of the epa tunes? Will it add as much power as 2.4d? I like 2.3.pl its a strong tune, but its a little hotter wot than 2.4d I'm sure it would be cooler on performance, but normally driving pedifile Larry runs quite cooler. The big thing I want to know between all of the bdtd files do tow and performance settings stay the same? Im going to try the other cl tunes and see if any of them are cooler. I miss the speedo recalibrator from 2.4d tho.

I haven't been stomping on it yet, but pedifile Larry is the hardest hitting off the bottom tune I've ran yet and I still haven't got into it too much yet. I'm going to run it for a bit to see how I like it. I don't care for the fact that it doesn't have a speedometer correction... Also I found no rpm limiter like 2.4d. Does 2.3 pl only fuel to 3200 or?? So far on pedifile Larry my egts have been lower than 2.4d and
It seems way more powerful and my rail hasn't gone above 25k although it hasn't been full throttle more than a second yet.

No, but you can get a triple dog and download them both and control the triple dog files on the fly with the gt tuner.

k so i downloaded the Crazy larry for pmt, i returned my truck to stock, copied all the stuff for the SD card and put them on my computer. i than went and cleaned everything off the SD card, the extracted the crazy larry file and than put the SD card into my PMT, when trying to download the tune, the PMT errored and said there was no tune on the SD card, did i do something wrong? my PMT version is 1.13.2 if that makes a difference, if there is anyone that can help me, would be much appreciated.

#11 ·
did you make sure you put the extracted files on the sd card. When you extract them it will open them up in a new file that will look the same as the original file, and alot of times people put the non extracted files onto the sd card

#13 ·
kmkdiesel, yes i extracted them and double checked that the SD card matched the file on my computer, did this multiple times, with the same results, SD card could not be read, or it doesnt even recognize that the SD was even in the PMT

#14 ·
check and make sure the lock switch didnt get bumped by accident and try re formatting the sd card and putting the files back on.

#15 ·
okay i will check that, this may be a dumb question, but how do you re-format the SD card. never done it. one other question i have is with this down load will i still have the 3 performance settings, or just crazy larry?

#17 ·
you will still have tow, performance and extreme...it will say extreme when crazy larry in on. The only way to know if its crazy larry is if you go into the program information (not sure what its called; but its in the menu)...then you should see the file name V1010 crazy larry.

I had this same issue when i loaded mine on my PMT...I think the fix for me was to "RE-SELECT" your vehicle (even though it shows your truck selected). Go to change vehicle and re-select your truck....lol sounds strange but this "RESETS" the unit and you will see the side lights blinking when the unit resets....if it blinks, then you know its working....after this, just continue with the install and it should work...

Going to try this myself...I'm running 1016 at the moment...copied files to a new SD Card...PMT recognized card, but didn't see the files...hope it works

ALSO....what version did you have prior to loading crazy larry??? Cause i THINK you will not be able to "back date" to version 1010 if you updated the PMT beyond version 1016...or something like that....

Maybe the experts will chime in and confirm

any good files for stock auto trucks? I'm pretty happy with what I run now. Tow does pretty well when I haul my racecar in a 28' enclosed bumper pull. No EGT probs at all. Extreme does pretty well for cruising. Just thinking there has to be something better for mileage and driveability without destroying my trans.

2.4.1 is my favorite all around tune for quiet running, great fuel economy, just I wish it had Crazy Larry but the extreme on this one is pretty strong anyway.......2.4d is probably my next fav.......2.4ct for better performance but noisier under hood. They all tow well with economy or even performance setting (for better economy) but have to watch the EGT's. Try them all.....I did....they are all slightly different.

#21 ·
Loaded up 2.4ct tonight. I missed not having the speedo recalibration.... That's a nice feature. It also makes it more accurate to figure fuel mileage. I'll see how it runs tomorrow. I'm just trying them all to find which one makes the best power, with least smoke and lowest egts.

#23 ·
You can't use these tunes on the GT itself. You need a Triple Dog with the tunes installed. With the GT already installed in your truck plug in the Triple Dog and install it also. The GT will now have full functionality just the Tow/Economy, Performance, Extreme, will be the tunes on the TD. It will still display Extreme setting for a Crazy Larry tune though. You can pick up a used TD for as little as $100 so it is a great add-on to the GT.

I downloaded the crazy Larry tune to my PMT...it appears to have loaded successfully... however my trans temp gauge isn't monitoring the temp is sittin at 0 deg. is there any way to correct this.... the SV before install was 1.01.6 and now it shows 1.01.0... I guess it has something to do with the SV but I was hoping there is a fix so I can keep crazy Larry loaded...thanks

#61 ·
I have the same issue, bought my PMT used a long time ago and it already had crazy larry on it, and the trans temp has always read 0*.

Also, I only show 20 something psi of boost. Bully Dog told me that is because it's showing on the display what the computer is seeing, since the PMT boost fools the ECM, but is there anyway to get it setup where the PMT monitor shows actual boost above stock level?

#28 · (Edited)
I went to "install download" then "return to stock".... it will prompt you to cycle the ignition a few times....then your back to stock.. It probably takes 15-20 minutes to load the software.

I loaded up 2.4.1 it was the weakest tune that's ever been on my truck... I think my edge may of added more. It did definitely lower my egts. I couldn't get it over 1200* no matter what I did, but it was a dog. I couldn't get my boost past 55 and it was over 70 on all of the cl files. It almost felt like one of the crazy Larry files on tow... I think I'm going to go back to 2.4d. I tried all but 2.2.7. Pedifile Larry was probably the strongest tune, but I didn't like not being able to recalibrate my speedo. Senator Larry was pretty strong, but hotter than 2.4d and 2.4ct. I didn't care for all of the timing in 2.4ct and I had what I believe to be rail pop with it. Didn't have this issue with 2.4d or 2.3pl. I had the worst fuel economy with senator Larry. I'll just have to learn how to manage my fuel pedal and not go 100% all of the time.

i have the Bully Dog Triple Dog power pup on my early 04. It has the tune that the Bully Dog tech support guys gave me *the most current software wouldn't work so they gave me a known good one from the past*. it runs really good but even on the "extreme" setting it barely smokes at all. What tune do you guys recommend i put on it so it'll smoke more but still not trash my manual trans?

#33 ·
Yes i have the stock clutch. I've been leaving it on Extreme and just driving normally...averaging around 30MPG so far! that's up from 22 before i put the Bully Dog on.
