So I just picked up my 06 qcsb 6spd. I have all my parts off my 03. Intake pusher smarty 60% over stock cp3 air dog II and gauges. I'm ordering 125hp tips because the truck needs injectors. Will the stock turbo burn all that fuel? If not what should I look into for a turbo. Ive read that these turbos can make 500hp but I don't want to over fuel it and burn it up. Thanks.
No the stock turbo will NOT burn all that fuel! I would look into a 64 series turbo. Maybe a aura 4000, or somthing close to a 64/71/14. Also on a side note i dont belive your smarty off ypur 03'will work on your 06'.
i figured as much, im just hoping i can drive it for a bit with the stock charger untill i have the coin to buy another one. the truck needs injectors so i figured id buy them with tips once instead of playing the nozzle game.
Digging this thread back up, ran into financial issues so i haven't gotten the injectors yet or a turbo. i was driving down south sunday night and injector 4 quit on me in New Jersey. 12 hours later i was back home with the truck on a trailer and now im hustling to get the sticks. once the injectors do arrive im going to be shopping for a bigger turbo. i've mainly been looking at industrial's turbos but im looking for other options as well. any input is greatly appreciated.
Id suggest getting your injectors and nozzles checked out before you just buy new. Or have you already?
Id also suggest you look around before you buy II.
If your stock nozzles are good, Id send em to Exergy to get opened up. They obviously can also check out yours to see if theyre re-usable.

i haven't had them looked at yet. based on how the truck was acting i was just going to order a new set with tips on them from Todd at T&C Diesel. he uses II tips but the price wasnt that bad.

Yea you could do that. Hopefully youre guessing right. Doesnt hurt to have a spare set of tips afterall. Your truck would have some downtime waiting for someone to check yours out but might save you some $...
T&C is definately good people to work with. When I need a pump, Todds who I'll send my money to but Im not an II fan. Never had a single II product but might wanna read from those who have. Feedback thread > Industrial Injection

well regardless of who does what with my injectors ill have some down time. maybe ill rip them out and send them out to be tested and then take it from there? i know II is constantly being complained about on here and CompD but where else should i look for tips? i wanted to buy brand new bodies and new nozzles so id have a whole new setup.

Definately talk to Exergy then. Pretty much the best. Cleanest burning too. Exergy Performance
