free mods for a common rail

I just bought my first common rail cummins. All i've ever built were 12v trucks and now that I've upgraded to a nicer truck I would like to know of the free mods I can do to my truck before purchasing the big tickets mods.

Specs on my truck:
2005 ccsb
150k miles
auto trans
k&n intake
4 inch exhaust with factory emissions crap
150 air dog lift pump

thanks
Mike

Gut the heater grid and possibly straight pipe it if you have tubing and a weldor.

Youre pretty limited to free. You can do cheap, but not so much free.

Tone ring mod, advances timing by 2? Degrees, possible slight mileage gain, pointless if you plan on getting a programmer.

Or cut a 4" chunk of 2x4 and wire it to the back of the go pedal, lol

Cheap, Powerful, Reliable......pick 2, you don't get the third.

For a stock truck, you won't get squat out of it for free.

BUILT is not simply a collection of commercially available parts that didn't come from the factory. Nor is simply paying someone else to do the work for you. Built is the 100's of personal hours in the modification, fabrication, understanding of components and how they affect the end goal. Breaking out your wallet doesn't mean you built it, it just means you bolted on someone else's work.

I had some foam lying around so I fixed the crappy padding on my drivers seat. Free and great.

You can pull out the baffles that are in your intake tube just after your airfilter. It won't help much but hey, some guys claim their exhaust tip adds 3 hp
