anybody who is anybody, knows that higher rpm alone wont make more power, the extra rpm is just over rev and that is for the track, not the dyno.
Extra RPM alone will not make more power, BUT with the correct fuel mapping 4000 rpm WILL make more power than 3000 rpm....that is a given!!!
However, the big drawback there would be loss of torque....so if your power is 1100/2100 (easy example) with 3000 rpm of full fuel, then 4000 rpms may turn out too be 1300/1600. Torque losses are the drawback!!!
But like you said wade, the extra rpm's is more for the drag racing/sled pulling crowd. More wheel speed.

alone no. But with other items like a big turbo, maybe yes
For example, can you light an HT3B as a single at 2000 rpm? no I assume... BUT it will light at 3500 rpm as I saw on a pulling 12v truck on the dyno...
So the RPM may allow for other things that will lead to higher HP
