Clutch Question

OK I am wanting to buy a clutch but i dont know were to begain mainly it will be a daily driver, pulling a 16 foot trailer with a 4500 pound truck, and drag racing if any. My question what brand single or dual disk and what kind of price range. Also how hard is it to put one in or should i have it done and about how much would it cost thanks.

start with what are your horsepower goals also, a single disk isnt made for racing/boosted launches. but they are cheaper compared to a dual disk, but there are 2 types of dual disk sfi rated(for sled pulling) non-sfi rated for daily driving, prices vary, um they are easy to put in if ya have the tools, if not i would pay somone, usually run between 450-600 to have one installed, and im bias on clutches, but valair, and southbend both make good products...

I suggest Valair and their new nodular sprung hub DD. Its the most affordable DD you will find. Great for towing, daily driving and recreational racing. Will hold 650hp with pedal stiffness equal to that of a stock NV5600 and coming in at just around $1000

Install is very straight foreward. If you have a transmission jack and basic hand tools and a day off it can easily be done.

Its a great clutch. I love mine. I am just worried that I am going to need a bigger one once I get the twins finished

From my experience with my truck, and buddy's trucks, I would skip the whole single disk game, and go ahead and throw a dual disk in it. As Cummins6Speed has already recommended, a sprung hub DD is a very nice clutch, I'm running one and love it.You can't get a better product or service than from the guys at ValAir. As for install, a trans jack, some basic tools, and somebody to bull$hit with lol it wouldn't be a problem.

I also highly recommend that you pull the t-case off it makes it a lot easier. Its just 6 nuts to take off.

Also when removing it and reinstalling it I suggest you put a block of wood on a jack and jack up the front of the engine by the oil pan to tilt it back. The G56 is so tall that if you don't you will rip the heat shield under the truck and have problems lining it up to put it back in
