Cummins Conversion, 12 valve, or Common Rail?

hey guys, as soon as i get my truck gone, im buying a 2003 Ford F-350 crew cab long bed lariat, got a good price on it, the guy melted the 6 leaker! (this is the exact truck i want, melted motor and all!) I am going to put a cummins in it, which motor do you think i should do? a 12 valve, or 05 an newer Common Rail!! PLEASE tell me which you think would be better and why!

THANKS!!

I would originally say 12ver for the simplicity, but the CR setup with Painless wiring would be simple as well. Are you keeping the Ferd tranny? If so, the CR would be my call B/C they have a wiring set to let this communicate between each other easily. IF you have a cheap CR in mind, that is.

12V would be simpler, CR would be nicer

man i think it would be bada$$ if you where to drop a common rail in, everyone does 12v swaps cause they are so easy, id say take the extra time and do a cr

good call, i probably will, i just like the 12 valves cause i want a truck to lope! but i like the newer HO's do they make a complete wiring harness and everything to put one in a ford? i know they make the tranny adapters and what not, but currently the ford has a 6 speed, and i want an auto! (built!)

CR for sure. The wiring is not bad. Don't waste your money on the painless kit.
