60 HP Injectors on stock truck?

I just talked to industrial injection about rebuilding my injectors and for $8 more per injector ($168 per injector), they will build them to 60 HP over stock. This sounds tempting and i was planning on getting a goerend trans in the near future but what else would be a necessity with those injectors? My sled is totally stock.

Also, I like my truck to be as quiet as possible and am wondering if those injectors are going to make the motor louder that stock injectors or idle rougher?

Thanks for any help.

I pulled the valve cover a couple weeks ago and found 3 intake valves to be about .015 when they were supposed to be .010 (not much variance) so i adjusted them hoping that would make the truck run quieter but it didnt.

I have had the truck since 102,000 and the previous owner had an edje juice box velcrowed to the fuse box and it has always been a loud runnin truck. I have no smoke on startup and am not "making" oil and had the truck re-flashed right after i bot it so i know the timing is stock. A mechanic here in central arkansas listened to it today and said i needed injectors and may as well get all 6 while im at it.

what brought you to the mechanic? is it because it is loud?

Mine was pretty loud until I adjusted the valves & then (at a later date) installed the amsoil bypass kit, now it is pretty quiet when compared to others. The bypass kit made a noticeable difference (return line at the oil fill cap).

I drove a friends 2006 cummins last sunday and realized how much louder my engine was running. Mine is probably 50% louder than his and the noise sounds like valve chatter while accelerating then sorta smooths out when the turbo gets goin but he has much smoother acceleration than i do.

What you could be hearing is clatter from the injectors or timing rattle. When mine were getting bad they made a ton of noise when cold and still quite a lot when warm. I got the 90hp from industrial and I noticed the actualy made the tone of the exhaust quieter by a lot above 2000rpm and with aussies that makes a huge diff.

I had the truck re-flashed a few months ago and it is still loud. These injectors sure are expensive and im still wonderin if i could get the 60 HP injectors and run them of a totally stock truck????

definately man, 60 horsepower over stock is not incredible, but you will feel it, and for $48 it would be well worth it.

your tranny is going to hate you until you do some tranny mods. i had 80 hp injectors and it would basically skip 2nd gear
