My truck has a 4000# rear axle load on it 24/7 due to the camper which isn't all that much. I installed a Mag Hytec@ 9200 miles and Amsoil 75-90 Severe Gear. The stock fluid was jet black and smelled awful. In my case it was worth it.

Ok I am getting one for the rear but not sure about the front. I am going to do a suspension system (Core or Carli) with steering stabilizer and Track Bar. Does the front pumpkin spin when in 2wd or does it only spin in 4wd? If it is not constantly turning then I am not putting one on yet. Thanks

Front fluid

In contrast to the rear, when installing a Carli diffguard we serviced the front fluid @ 15,000 and it was like new. It spins but unless engaged,it apparently doesn't generate much heat. The diffguard won't fit with a Mag-Hytec.

I love my Mag-Hytec, I've checked my fluid (royal purple) a few times sence I got it, and it looks perfert every time. Before I get it I checked my fluid a few times and changed it every time, it never looked good.

I bought my rear Magtec directly from Magtec and the guy told me to not use royal purple bc they were having issues with the Magtec material and RP not getting along. Can't remember the exact reasons but you could give them a call for clarification. Recommended Mobil 1 Synthetic.
