Considering the air still has to go through the turbo and intercooler, is a metal vs plastic intake tube really going to make much difference though? This is something I'm honestly curious about.

I'm currently debating btwn the AFE Stage 2 w/Pro-Dry S or the AEM Workhorse. We've got an AEM Brute Force kit on our Jeep TJ and have been happy with it, and from the pics in this thread it looks like the filter AEM uses in their Workhorse kit is larger than what AFE uses, but I like the fact that AFE's intake tube is plastic vs metal because of concerns about heat transfer to the intake air... so I'm wondering how much of a difference could it really make??

I have the AEM. When I got it a guy I know told me it wasn't good it would just absorb heat and make my temps go up. I knew better before I even put it on that at higher rpm's the air is moving so fast it isn't going to pick up much if any heat. I was right, with my observations I saw egt's similar to my BHAF/stock intake tube at low speeds/rpm, and at higher speeds/rpm the temps were quite a bit cooler. It was worth it to me. Plus it's pretty blingy all cleaned up!

Question

I wanted the AEM, but was told the WorkHorse won't on the 06 and higher. I got the AFE Stage II instead.

ARB bumper?! I didn't think ARB made anything for the 3rd Gen trucks?? Got pics of your bumper?

edit: n/m, saw them in your garage... NICE!! Where'd you find the bumper? Nice Jeep too. We've got a modified '95 XJ and '00 TJ, just got a set of IROKs for them too.

I had to order the bumper, ARB told me it was the first in North America, had to wait 3 months but it was worth the wait IMHO...

I used to have a nice 89XJ too but it's been replaced with a new 4door Rubicon (pics in garage), haven't had time to install the bumpers, lift, tires etc. I have for it yet... too busy working to play
