Since it says 3 it is trying to load to port 3 on your PC which is usually going to be the wrong port for a USB device. After plugging in the downloader, and allowing the pc to go through the install steps it will say your device is installed properly and ready for use...this is where you MUST REBOOT! I had the same problem. Once you do that it should find the device on like port 10 or so I wud think rather than 3. See if that works if not shoot me an email, you can find it on my site and I will get with you to help you out.

By the way you should only have to reboot the first time yu install the drivers on your PC, after that it should recognize the device when you simply plug it in....Let me know how this works for you

Hey BlackSmoke, I noticed how much you have helped everyone with the BD's and the different downloads and had a question for you. I already have the CL tune and wanted to know the difference between "Pedophile", "Scary Larry", and "Crazy Larry". My truck is fairly built and Im looking for the easiest to use of the three and it wouldnt hurt to not have to undo and redownload the BD when I want to turn the torque management off....

Well BadRam, check this link to another post where I described the tunes as best I can.

As for having to re-flash your ECM every time you want to turn on/off the TQ management, there is no work around for that....I guess the ability to shift on the fly has us spoiled.

I would recommend scarry or pedifile probly for your truck, but as I have said before every truck has its own genetic code and will responde in unique ways to the different tunes....just try them and see. How do you like your TST? I want to stack mine, but I am thinking all I might be able to afford is the Diablo power puck...I want the mp-8 but I have also considered other options.

another thing also, that i have never personally down but have told many people to do that have called me and they have had no problems with this. If you have the never version and lost crazy larry, go to the bully dog wesite and upgrade it again with there update agent after halfway complete unplug the the programmer from the computer and then hook back up and reinstall the newer version, after this is complete you can install any of the larry tunes on to your triple dog.

I thought the only trucks that benefitted from SL were some '05 autos? With an '06 I would think that 2.4D with tq mgmt removed would give him the most power.

Thank you BlackSmoke! Ive heard a lot of good about the Scary and Pedophile tunes and wasnt too sure which one to run. Ive been running the Crazy tune for awhile and have stacked it with both the Power Puck and MP-8 and I thought it performed better with the MP-8. I went with the TST because I am just got my new twin CP3 kit and a bigger rail and I stepped up to some 120 ATS sticks. If you can, I would definitely go with the TST and look around because I have seen plenty of them on here and on Craigslist before for a fraction of the price. Im hoping with everything said and one that I can hit somewhere between 900 to 1000 on just #2 and no NOS. I should know in the next few weeks!

I am not disagreeing that those may have been the targeted trucks, but EVERY truck is a little different especially when you are modding them, the BD's unlike the Smarty are not customizeable so you have to try all the tunes and pick the best one.

I would be careful running pedifile with your TST though, not sure how it will act with two devices acting on your rail pressure....could get pretty high, especially since you have the fuel there with those twin pumps...JMHO

check the link i posted a little the page to another thread where i went into detail a little on the files. If u use my files they should work on any TD regardless of the version. I fixed the previous issue that restricted you from going back once you surpased version 2.4.0
