CFM intake.. Egt drop ?

I ve heard guys say their egts dropped pretty good after going to the cfm intake manifold. It doesn't seem like it could make that big of a difference ? Has anyone seen any signifigant egt drops after switching to a cfm, or any other after market intake manifold ? Thanks, Scott.

Yep, big drop when I did CFM+ and grid heater delete. If you really don't believe the stocker is bad, pull it off and take a look at it sometime. A stick of gum could block the air flow...

you arent going to see that much at all of an egt drop, not from a intake elbow.an intercooler yes, water/meth yes,and the smarty runs cooler then most, that will help.

my egt's dropped pretty good. and mulisha's right all that will help control the lowering of your egt's as well. intake elbow wont do it alone.

You're right, eliminating head losses and increasing the pressure to the intake manifold won't lower egts

its probably a bad idea but iv'e thought about running some extra intercooler piping below the intercooler. I heard a long time ago about guys running turbos in cars that had them mounted in the rear of the car. Due to the lenth of piping they had no intercooler and the things ran pretty cool. If i try it i'll probably run my lenth of piping before entering the intercooler, snake it underneath, 180 it back around and up to the intercooler. I have even thought about trying to build a small intercooler to fit that area. Maybe hide it behind the bumper and try to direct some air to it. I've been a fabricator for a pretty long time so building wont be an issue. Just thought it might be an interesting thing to try to increase my intercooler volume. It wont cost to much for materials.. So you guys think this could work or have i gone mad??
