Dont know why you would be bashed for that. I was just about ready to say something just like that. This is my first diesel and I want to be able to throw some smoke too. I know it is just wasting fuel, but yea., I can admit that i am young, (24) and this a new toy that I want to have fun with. I am sure I will go out of it

ok just to clear up the whole "thanks to the economy that let teens or high schoolers drive nice 2nd and 3rd gens blah blah blah"... not all teens are ignorant and just buy a nice diesel to drive around town blowin smoke everwhere... i bought my truck to pull equipment and thats what she does... i don't lug it or rap er out at every stop sign to "roll coals". so thats a little offensive!

thanks to people who like to roll coal just to look cool, we now have things like dpf's, nox and urea injenction that will slowly kill the world performance diesels. no more amazing motors like the 5.9s are bein made so whats next?.

dont buy a diesel to blow smoke cuz it does make us ALL look bad.

p.s. i just graduated high school.

I know for a fact that if I was in high school and or in my early 20's I'd have a cummins that would roll the coal, train horns, big tires, a str8 pipe etc. I'd smoke every ricer that dared follow me out of the school lot. Chicks dig trucks!

Since they weren't around then, I had to wait unil I was 'old' to get one.

Havin a hotrod diesel now is no different then when we were young and had loud tire smokin muscle cars and gas trucks. Most of us wish we still had our old muscle cars that tore up the neighborhood. More power to anyone that is young that can get one and rod it.

Don't you guys remember unbolting two collector bolts so you could hang the exhaust and run 'uncorked' and pull over and put it back on if the cops showed up? Or dumpin lighter fluid in your glass packs and torchin' them off before you put them on, just so you could have something under the truck/car that looked like a muffle if you were stopped?

I was lucky and had a '69 Roadrunner to drive to school (dad's # matching that we still have). Or a pumped up F100 that did awesome burnouts! I even carried extra tires to throw on just to race with and smoke.

The best part about the young guys buying these trucks is when they get beat or smoked out by an old guy that they think is a 'fuzzy faced grandpa type'!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wisdom and treachery trumps youth and enthusiasm everytime!

I say bring it on young guns. Just remember that when you pull up to the old man, he just might be a little younger at heart then he looks! And don't forget to ask him what mods he has when you see him at the fuel pumps so he can help you figure out what is next for your hotrod!!!!!!!

i dont think it would be much of an issue with the wall thickness they made up most of it in stroke not all in punching out the walls. im sure if you could get the timing and computor side down you could stroke out 5.9 but there is alot more to it then just changing the cranks stroke would be cool to see. Oh and i spent the 40 grand in parts just for the smoke show screw all that going 11s and shooting for the 10s in a mega cab or the 1100hp goal its all about the smoke.......
