I am surprised you want brighter lights, I get flashed constantly from other motorists, on just low beam. I have no mods or repairs made to my truck lights since I bought it.
People sure get woken up when I flash high beams back!!!

You know what really makes em mad when they flash me - hold back on the brights & kick 'em all on. That really makes 'em stop flashing @ me. My friend's got the Silverstar's in his Dakota. They are a little brighter, but IMO not worth the big bucks they cost him over the other bulbs. I'd go HID if you want bright.

I've had Silverstars in mine for about 2 years. Done a lot of night driving with 80K on the odo. I have the Britebox also. Have not had a problem. Still on the first set of bulbs. They made a pretty good difference on mine. I like em.

How did you mean by kick em all on? I tried turning on my brights with the fog lamps and the fogs kick off when you hit the bright switch.
So what would be a good bulb to go with when mine burn out?

Sorry, kinda asked the same question there again. What are HID? Where can you get them? Are they legal?

I think they're all on (all 6), but not positive because I have to hold on the lever. But if you kick your brights on, then pull back again & hold it back. I don't know if all of them are on, but it is a whole heck of a lot brighter.

First off Silverstar's are a waste of your hard earned $$$. There are alot better bulbs out there then the Silverstars. Alot of people get the Silverstars because they get lazy and just go down the the local parts store and pick up a set for $50 and then lie to themselvs and others by saying they are good when they know in there heart that they suck and were a waste of money. Its funny how some people justify there bad purchases by saying that the're great.

I have run PIAA xtreeme white's in the past and yeas they were better then the silverstars but still not worth it in my book. I scored on a set of new HID off a DTR member for $170 shipped. They are the GP Thunder 9500K HID that retail at Welcome to hid-lights.com for $225. They are light years beyond Silverstars and PIAA. About 100% inprovement over stock. I knew from day one that I wasnt going to waste my $$$ on some Silverstar or PIAA bulbs so I went straight to HID on my 03 but I still needed matching fog. Before I got the HID's I got a set of the PIAA for my fog bulbs and they were alot whiter and more blue the the fatory headlights. Well once I put on the HID's they made my PIAA fog bulbs look wayyyy dingy and yellow. Insted of spending another $225 for HID fog bulbs that I figured would be dumb since you get all of your driving light from the headlights and the potental of blinding drivers with HID fogs I searched for better bulbs. I posted a thread on Pirate and some guys reccomended the Howen bulbs. I did a knowen mod to go from a low watage 9006 o a higher watage 9005 in the Howen and there was a better inprovement in color and matched my HID's better.

If you want to go cheap and get a plug in buld then get the Howen bulbs over the Silverstars. PIAA are better then Silverstars. But if you can swing the $$$ definetly get a HID kit. I dont know what the "Best" HID's are and they probably cost over $700 but im happy with my $200 GP Thunder. They also sell a HI/LO HID kit on the site I listed for $80 more. I wouldnt waste you $$$ on Silverstars and just save up for HID's.

Goodluck

wire the lows to stay on w/ the high beams....otherwise you need HID's out of a BMW or something

Well, THANK YOU BIG DAN for telling us that everyone that doesn't have the same fancy HID, brightest lights in the world is dumber than a dang ole rock!!

I have the Silverstars. And they are a better bulb than the stock ones. They are a brighter and whiter light. They do shine farther than the stockers. And I have been happy with them.

No, they are not the brightest, nor do they have that cool blue color. But they are good bulbs. I got my $50 set of bulbs for $29 with a $5 coupon at Advance Auto.

Were all entitled to our opinion and are free to try to convince others of a great deal that we have came across. But your condemnation of the rest of us that can't or don't want to spend $200-$700 for lights is a little out of order.

Randy
