Doughboy...did you you use the Krylon Crystal Color and Crystal Clear as well?? If not, what other brand? What about prep work? Those look really good, and with my black truck and tinted windows that would be sweet on mine!!! Plus using the factory lights should decrease the chance of leaks..

Driver311, I painted the housing on mine black and it looks great. Ill try and get some pics up it might be this weekend tho. I want to try this too, do you think smoking the headlights and tail lights would work too. Im just worried that doing the headlights would kill the amount of light from the headlights.

I don't think that the paint will decrease the light too much. It obviously will decrease it some. Here are the pics of mine. You can compare the lights on the marker lights to the clearance lights on mine. The clearace lights have 3 coats of Krylon crystal color and 2 coats of clear on them. HERE are mine on my 97.
I put 2 coats on my tail lights and I could hardly tell I did anything.

oldsmokey, what year is your truck. I was under the impression that the 06 headlights could not be taken apart and painted like the 03-05's could. If they can be, that would fantastic.

I smoked out the headlight on my titan.. it looked OK but if you did black housing then I wouldn't even bother... depending on what color your truck is a light tint on the tails would look good

If anybody could post an exact proven, step by step method of doing the mod I would love it. I've been researching this for some time, and not being good at paint and body work, i'm more than a little scared to try this. Thanks in advance guys.
