I would be very interested in seeing this spread sheet for a 3rd gen. If in fact the Ottomind only does fuel, then I would do very well to get something that does timing as well. It looks like some of the options on the 2nd gen sheet are not available for 3rd gen? Anyhow, that's a cool spread sheet. I wonder how much mileage/power could be added with proper timing adjustments to my current setup.

I have a friend that does import tuning. Principles of internal combustion engine do not change though.

The underlying basis of fuel/air/timing/duration/pressure is a very complicated thing and every car/truck is really different. You need to consider many things like use, age, location (sea level or rocky mountain high) HP, torque or Milage. Any and all parameters can be adjusted in theory. Sometimes just changing your oil viscosity/type will make a noticible difference.
What exactly you want as the end result is where you need to concentrate your efforts. There is more to be discussed on this but there are a few constants you can not change.
1. How long it takes YOU, not the other guy running another set up, to get to the 1/4 mile. If that is your goal.
2. How many miles you travel on a tank, IF that is what you are looking for.

Everything else is just a matter of how you want to achieve those goals. The basics are all the same its just how you adapt your surrounding to them.

Key ways to see if changes are worthwile is to keep track of your progress and change only one thing at a time. this way you really know if it made an improvement OR you need to remove it and start again if things got worse.

The cheap easy way to get there is to replicate a successful set up that someone else has already done the research for.

Its oftem more important to ask the questions like how and where do you use your truck, gearing, trans, driving habbits, than what system did you put in there.

Ask carefully you'll get better results.
Otherwise you may spend a lot of $ on figuring out how all these products may NOT work for you.

Think about it. Most imortantly keep track of your changes. What do you think top race teams do. Sometimes they may not even know initially why something works. But you can bet they have kept track of those changes that did work so they can do them again.
