Toolbox HELP
I want to know what you guys have in your Quad Cab/short beds for tool boxes. I really want a chest but I'm not sure what size will fit. Let me know about your chest boxes. Any suggestions would help. Thanks in advance.

I just put a Trail Boss chest in my truck about 3 months ago. It measures about 60"s. Ill get some pictures tonight and post them and ill get the actual part number if your interested. This box was a VERY tight fit and i had to shim it up about 1/2" to get it to sit level, if not the corners would hit on the wheelwells and the front of the bed and would not mount flush. The way its sitting now it has about 1/8 clearance at the corners. I think it looks sweet and fits perfect. They almost didnt sell it to me cause they said it wouldnt fit.

Mine measures, 60Lx20Tallx20 deep at the top and the taper is only 16"s. When i went to buy a box. The guy looked through his catalog and came up with the same numbers you got. We started grabbing short boxes that would fit in between the fenderwells and found we could scoot the box all the way over to the bed sides and it fit. So we went back in and looked at the 60" box and measured the bottom and is was 16"s also. So we grabbed it and took it to the truck and it fit, so i bought it. I knew it didnt fit exactly and i would have to shim it up a little to get it to fit flush. They also told me i could take a ballpin hammer and smash some dents in the spots where the corners were hitting. I still may do that once i get a bedliner cause my 1/8" clearance i have now will be gone. Hope that helps. Ill try to see if i can find an actual model number of the one i got. My best advise would be go somewhere that carries Trail Boss and test fit them yourself just to make sure they fit or call Trail Boss and confirm that model. It would suck to order one and it doesnt fit at all.

I purchased mine a place called Croft Truck Accessories here in San Antonio. They are a major distibutor for south cental texas i believe. I want to say mine ran about $375 after taxes. They told me the only other box better than this one was Weatherguard, but i didnt like the looks of those boxes. The quality on the Trail Boss is great in my opinion, it closes very easily. I dont have to slam it shut just a steady pull of the lid till it closes and opens even easier. I use to have a deflectasheild challenger box on my previous truck. Which seem to be pretty pricy. But it dosnt compare to the quality of the TB box IMHO.
