heat shield no.
bhaf was originally meant
for the 2nd gens, not sure on
the 1st gens.

you will have to trim the battery tray to make
a bhaf fit on a 3rd gen. i actually just
sold the bhaf that i had due to not getting
it to ever fit right.

a few guys on here have made it fit, so good luck !

Not really sure what one I want to go with I am still in the research stage. So If you have any input on what works best. I would appreciate it.

I just installed the amsoil 4510 in my truck. It ws pretty easy...but no heat shield yet. I just used a schedule 40 long radius 90 an 2 3" pieces of same pipe. I made a collar clamp out of 1/8 aluminum bent it and attached it to the fan shroud just to keep it in place. Hope this helps.

napa 2790 under my hood. . .just had a little problem getting the intake tube and the outlet to the BHAF to fit right. flat head screwdriver was needed. I didnt have to modify the battery tray, as long as you angle the thing right it will drop right in.

only issue I have truly seen has been where the metal forming on the filter has been rubbing on the altenator.

I had the 19037 in my truck for 3yrs and thought that I'd try something different. I used a short piece of 4" exhaust pipe and inserted it in the filter and into the factory rubber 90 and it worked great. No probs with the silicone levels in the oil analysis.
