"lamp out" light on the dash and a chime goes off every once and a while, but no lamp is out. its really annoying and was wondering if theres a fix.

Have you changed the headlights to a higher k rating. I bought nokya headlights and only when i turn the headlight switch on while on the highbeam side it will do that. I get out, look around and ask myself WTF?

I am using Hella bulbs now, and if I don't put them on low beam then mine will do the same thing next time I crank my truck. Also, there have been a few threads on here about this issue, and what people have found is the tailight boards having bad connections.

Mine was doing the same thing replaced the drivers side taillight circuit board and all was good.

Some of the other threads and other users led me in that direction.

The part was $32-35 at the stealer's.

From feedback from parts room guy it is a known problem with '03 but no recall on it (he had 5 drivers side in stock but only 1 pass side).

Good luck.

Yes, the 03's had a bad drivers side tail light circuit board. Known issue for the 03's.

yeah it is grey....and they come from the dealer with the orange grommets also. all you need to do is switch them over from tailight to tailight and switchout the bulbs.

p.s. get some extras bulbs it dont take much to ruin one. just in case.

Board is on the back of the tail light and takes a couple minutes to install.
