Dually Conversion

I found a dually bed the same color as my truck, same year, with everything included for $650. The bed is brand new as the donor truck was converted to a utility bed before it left the dealer. I am thinking that I should do it as I can get wheels etc for another 600-800, and spacers for the rear axle of my truck for another $200. What does everyone think? Should I do it?

Give it a shot if you want a dwr. Take picts along the way so we can see how it goes. I have thought about doing it myself to an older truck I have around, just haven't taken the time. Good Luck

You will need the spacers for the front too.

Buy the bed even if you don't want to make your truck a dually.

You could resell the bed and make a nice profit on it. It's worth a lot more than $650.

That's a good deal. Where I get my beds for my conversions cost more than that. They sell dually beds complete from between 1500 to 2500 dollars brand new. Let me know if you need any help or advice, we do this type of conversion at my shop all the time. So, I know all the little things you might want to know.

djbikeman,
My truck IS inferno red. It has a silver bottom though. Is yours all inferno, or is it two tone too?

So what has to happen to the rear axle? I have been looking for a bed too. My camper is a little big for my SRW and have been looking at either a dually conversion or 19.5's. Both are an option but I don't want to give up my SRW bed or option when I am tired of the dually.

Also, will the lights from a 2007 bolt in to a 2006 bed? I know the lenses are different but I don't think the shape is different.
